The Ibanez PGM series of guitars have been running for 25 years now behind shred genius and drill pick master Paul Gilbert. The PGM80P-NT is the latest in a long line of different models and takes it all the way back to the PGM800 from 2006 with a unique design and some new trimmings that fit Paul’s preferences in 2015.

Made To Spec

Based off of the PGM800 the PGM80P has the exact ash body and finish from the original 1996 run though this time with black F hole paint and more up to date hardware. While the body is made of ash the neck has a new PGM premium profile with 5 piece maple and walnut construction that keeps the neck strong while keeping a nice bright tone. What really makes this different when compared to the original PGM800 is the fact that it has 22 frets rather than 24. This may seem like a downgrade but it actually improves resonance and sustain as it means you can then have a large neck plate.DiMarzio PickupsHot and ready to rock you have a set of DiMarzio PAF Master humbuckers directly mounted to the guitar.
